Annual Session : Information

The 2012 SDDA Annual Session will be held May 17-19, 2012 at the Sheraton and Convention Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The pre-registration deadline is April 30, 2012. There is an additional $15 fee to register on site.

A block of rooms is being held at the Sheraton for those attending the meeting. Call the Sheraton directly at (605) 331-0100 to make a reservation. The Sheraton requests that you make reservations under individual names, rather than dental offices.

Annual Maximums on Adult Dental Medicaid Benefits

The Medicaid Solutions Task Force has recommended a $1,000 annual maximum on Adult Dental Medicaid benefits. There is no legislation on this issue. This change will be made through an amendment to the “State Plan” for operating Medicaid and will be reflected in the general appropriations bill. An exemption is expected to be made for “emergencies”. This would include cases requiring general anesthesia and extensive care for special needs patients will be exempted from the annual maximum. The SDDA Dental Health Committee will meet with the Department of Social Services regarding revisions to the Medicaid Plan Amendment.
