Thank you for being part of your professional association. Your membership is important. It provides you with access to the resources and services you need to succeed in your practice. It also makes you part of an organization that defends profession and advances the causes that are important to dentists and patients.
Organized dentistry has membership benefits at three levels:
• the national level — the American Dental Association;
• the state level — the South Dakota Dental Association;
• and the local level — your district/component society.
When you join the SDDA, you also join your local dental society and the American Dental Association — and a tradition that dates to the founding of the SDDA in 1883. “Tripartite” describes the organizational tiers collectively. Each level within the tripartite sets its own dues, selects its own officers and board members, and makes decisions on the services and benefits it offers to members
